As the new regionalization has been decided, the three metropolitan of Taiwan - Taipei City, Kaohsiung City, and Taichung City shall have the brand-new patterns of development. This paper starts from the research of family income and expenditure in Taichung City. On the one hand, it conducts survey of the consumption function in Taichung City; on the other hand, it provides the comparison of family consumption among Taichung, Taipei and Kaohsiung Cities.
