The instrument of this study was a psychometric questionnaire survey including five sections: demographics, participated in leisure, sex role inventory, motivation, and barriers. A total of 340 (68%) female teachers were responded to this study. In order to clarify questions and explain results, a follow-up face to face interview qualitative procedure (N = 6) probed more holistic descriptions. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, one-way ANOVA were used to examine research questions. The .05 level of significance was used for all statistical analysis. The results indicated that the mean of sex stereotype was 2.73 (SD = 0.96), and showed that elementary school female teachers have lower sense toward sex stereotype. In addition, the significance was detected (p = 0.002) between the motivation of participated in leisure activities and the levels of sex stereotype. Furthermore, sex stereotype has positively correlated with the barriers of participated in leisure activities (r = 0.107). Besides, there was a significant difference between the sex stereotype and the barriers of participated in leisure activities (p = 0.014). Based on the results, this study concluded that the sense of sex stereotype is the factor to the willing and motivation of participated in leisure activities among elementary school female teachers. Moreover, they would rather participate in light, relaxative, and less skill leisure activities. However, the sense of sex stereotype is still one of the barriers for participated in leisure activities among elementary school female teachers. Fortunately, the government has constantly promoting the idea of gender equality. Although the sense of sex stereotype is still existed, it has only lower affection. 林明宏 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 120 zh-TW
