Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 土木工程學系所 === 97 === Abstract The stress concentration at the tip of the crack in the penstock may ignite the fast crack growth and lead to the total failure of the penstock. In the study, the technique of Digital Image Correlation (DIC) is applied to detect the strain distribution around the crack tip in a penstock subjected to the pressure of water. With the experiment results, the DIC solutions are in very good agreement with that of finite element within the elastic range of the material. This shows the technique of Digital Image Correlation is feasible in use for strain measurement for penstock.
