Description
Summary:碩士 === 明新科技大學 === 精密機電工程研究所 === 97 === Violinist uses his lower jaw to hold the violin at the chinrest while he is playing the violin. Chinrest is very important because it is the key component for the violinist to hold the violin, thought it is only a piece of wood component. The chinrests have been used on violin over one hundred years ,but the surface deign of chinrests does not meet the requirement of ergonomics, making the violinist uncomfortable and have bruise on the skin of neck, even affecting the quality of performance. The major defect of current chinrest, causing the stress concentration at the contact area between the chin and chinrest, are the surface contour of chinrest do not match the surface contour of violinist’s chin. The stress concentration can be improved if both the surface contours of chin and chinrest can match to each other perfectly. In this research, human factors engineering, reverse engineering, CAD/CAM and RE/RP are used to manufacture the custom-made chinrest, which make the violinist net only be able to practice playing violin longer but also enhance the sound stability of violin playing.
