As the fast development of information technology, the life cycle of new technology was tend to be shorter than before. As a result, most the enterprises were try to increasing their productivity under the circumstance of limited resources. This research was focused on investigating the effect of intellectual capital on productivity in semiconductor industry in Taiwan. However, due to the differences of output value in different industry, the research divided the semiconductor industry into “semiconductor fabrication industry” and “semiconductor design industry”. The study also categorized the intellectual capital into three dimensions; which were human capital, structural capital, and customer capital. For productivity measurement, the research were examining by using five different productivity index to measure the enterprise productivity. The factor analysis, Pearson product correlation, and regression analysis were used to analyze the research data. The results indicated that: (1) for human capital, in both semiconductor fabrication industry and semiconductor design industry, the seniority of employees was significantly influenced enterprise’s productivity. On the contrary, the employee trait was not influenced enterprise productivity. Except that, the semiconductor design industry pays much attention to education and training. (2) for structural capital, the “Intellectual Assets and R & D Investment” were significantly influenced enterprise’s productivity for both semiconductor fabrication industry and semiconductor design industry. In semiconductor design industry, the procedure of the company and information system structure were significantly influences the enterprise’s productivity.
