Summary: | 碩士 === 明新科技大學 === 工業工程與管理研究所 === 97 === Remote I/O control module includes sensor-to-computer, computer-to-sensor, digital I/O, timer/ counter, RS-232 to RS-485 converter, RS-485 repeater, man machine interface, data display and application software. It has become the most critical parts in remote monitoring systems. Remote I/O control modules provide cost-effective protection and conditioning for a wide range of valuable industrial control signals and system. This study chooses a typical remote I/O control module supply chain that includes the following members: materials/parts suppliers, manufacturer, and customers. When a customer request is initiated, the manufacturer will decide the processing sequences of orders by a cyclic policy. Then the manufacturer will produce the required products based on the customer requested due date. The manufacturer is operated in the make to order environment. That is, the manufacturer has inventory to hold for materials/parts, but not for finished goods. This study proposes a simulation-based research structure to evaluate the impact of experimental variables (including cyclic policy, various uncertainties, etc.) on the performance of the remote I/O control module supply chain. Moreover, various cyclic policies will be tested under different experimental conditions for each of the performance indexes. The performance indexes used in the study include total profit, fill rate, flow time, and tardiness. Finally, a real remote I/O control module supply chain is used to demonstrate the research structure. Based on the results of the example, all experimental variables except due date variability exhibit statistical significance with respect to any measure. Moreover, the cyclic policies outperform the non-cyclic policy with respect to any measure at the condition of high setup time.
