Summary: | 碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 設計管理研究所碩士在職專班 === 97 === In the modern life, printing is not only considered as a means of information transfer but also a kind of the aesthetic feeling. As the fast development of computer industry, the printing is facing a drastic transformation—further development in upper stream and further integration in the downstream. The printing design is an inevitable tendency. Accompanying with the change of the printing process, the design management is also adjusted.Under the inflexible architecture of the traditional printing, the cased state-run printing factory is facing a great impetus of privatization. Although these state-run enterprise has a lot of superiorities like mechanical equipment, authentication and environment, it also suffers the potential threats like multiple management levels, high error rate and hard to reform. In order to enhance the flexibility and competitiveness while facing the fast change of printing, this study will base on the actual survey cases and then make a further research on the managerial behaviors. From these, I will try to figure out the existing problems and weak points and then raise the concrete suggestions for the reference of printing industry.
Based on case study with SWOT analysis and indepth interviews, the study report will be divided into two steps; in the first step, I will focus on the individual case to make the investigation on the existing problems, the results will be the basis of next step. The second step will focus on the selected private enterprises for indepth interview in order to obtain the suggestions induced from organization, mechanical equipment, personnel, management form, further development with theories of design management.
The study shows that the state-run printing factory exists many problems of inflexible organizational architecture, mechanical equipment not in full use status, printing designers in short, bad capability of communications among internal units and limited market environment. These problems also exist in some private printing factories. In response to these problems, suggested solutions can be divided as follows: 1. Enterprise and design organization: to fully utilize the differences of locality to lower the cost or to use the enterprise alliance to form a huge network of printing. The unit can be extended to advertisement planning and oversea development. 2. Design organization: it can be divided into design, final design and the integration of drawings. 3. Mechanical equipment and techniques: focused on the software system and the processed equipment of the post-printing, especially on the development of printing materials and the display of special printing effects. 4. Printing designers who have the capabilities of good communications. By means of regular educational training, they can fully understand the procedures of printing operations. 5. Printing design management: By fully monitor and control of abnormal sheets, to effectively lower the errors of printing. To perfect the system of management in order to reach the requirements of high quality and effectiveness.To actively acquire for the various certificates. In the future, printing industry shall be devoted to the promotion of design role; to break away the mode of traditional manufacturing and to create a new impression for the difference industries like electronic publishing, multimedia, Internet and digital printing.
