Due to the slump, we can always see many serious social problems such as the decreasing employees cut by big enterprises and survival crises. We are wondering now how to pass the crisis and step forward. Jim Collins, the great management master in America, the author of “Good to Grea”, thought that team friends of the same occupation are more important than plans during the financial storm. The most reliable protection is not super equipments or the best plans but with the top mountain-climbing masters. In other words, “talent” is the most important key to solving the problems.
In fact, the crisis of environmental great change also arose in the War Country Times of China 2000 years ago. “It’s the best times, but it’s also the worst times.” The author of “A Tale of Two Cities ”, Charles Dickens in Europe said. That is, countries took over others; wars frequently happened; people became homeless and crimes were committed around. It was really the worst times, but it was also the best times. At that time, Feudal Society distintegrated and viewpoints of values confused people. In order to meet the environmental need, outstanding scholars began thinking solution methods, so the confusing times is the golden period on Chinese ideological history. This made Shang Yang produce the wisdom of political reforms for the troubling times. The wisdom is a lesson from ancient experiences for the people today.
The paper is to research that Shang Yang’s political reforms became successful strategies and its modern meanings. Besides considering forefathers’ related research information, history, and the related work of past dynasties, the researcher mainly adopted the successful rules for basis from“Good to Grea” by James Collins published in 2001. That is, the research tried to examine, prove and expound how “Shang Yang’s political reforms” achieved success and its intentional modern meaning.
Therefore, the researcher explained the research motivations, purposes and documents first. Second, it aimed at the viewpoints and the successful key to modern business managements from “Good to Grea” . Third, it attempted to examine and analyze the successful strategies of “Shang Yang’s political reforms” and seek the successful “wisdom” and its intentional modern meaning.
Conclsively, by way of the comparisons between Chinese and Western concepts and viewpoints, it’s easy to know that Chinese and Western people pursued the same successful constant rules. The researcher appreciated Shang Yang’s discerning wisdom and learned a lesson from the ancient experience. However, changeful lives are also constant rules. The researcher hopes that the research can also make us all learn a lesson from ancient experiences and give a way to pass the adversity of lives safely through the Chinese and Western discerning wisdom or successful rules.
