First off this study articulates the motivation and purpose of the research; next conducts the literature review of the existing research papers, organizing and compilation; then locates the differences between the leading writers; and finally points out the research directions and the essentials of dissertation, in addition to mapping out a clear definition of lyric prose. In her adolescent and youth stages, Lolan cultivated her unique character and charisma through living in a huge traditional residence house in her old hometown, being raised up by loving parents at home and inspired by teachers at a teacher’s college. In the next stages vital to her walk of life, what scented and experienced by her led to profound influence to her attitude toward writing. This study deliberates intrinsic tracing and investigation into the every stage of her life respectively, from childhood, schooling, through her relocating to Taiwan all alone, starting career in radio broadcasting, and finally becoming dedicated to writing by following her instinct; and tries to further better capture the very gist of the content behind her creative work of lyric prose writing on the basis of intricate understanding of her life experiences. To the content, Lolan’s works of lyrical prose fall into three major genres, namely “Scenic, Inspirational, and Narrative” prose. Her apparent writing style is best demonstrated with “Valuing the self-involvement in the prose and making prose read like talking in person”, “viewing issues calmly with head while responding them passionately with heart”, “Voicing sincerely and in plain words naturally without artful twist – “less is more”. Lolan’s way of leading life featured seeking no name no self-interest, viewing the world with broadened mind and preventing from competition or defeating others, often than not lead readers to be aware of and even skilled in “ecstasy” and “relief”. Lolan’s zeal of great nature is demonstrated vividly in her writing, however, without sacrificing her appreciation of artistic aesthetic beauty when returning to urban area thanks to her struggling in the up and down of life. She writes swiftly in a witty way without any undesired efforts and it is her caring attitude revealed in her works that makes her readers read her lyric prose joyfully over and over. Lolan’s artistic writing techniques behind every lyric prose demonstrate that Rolan has a good mastery of using colors and sounds, also straight expression and implication, to deliver her ideas and feelings. This study finds that viewing from three aspects – “language aesthetic, music aesthetic and atmosphere aesthetic” aspects it possible to conclude her operational strategies in rhetoric and atmosphere areas, the fluency, rhythm and beat variations, and the imaginary atmosphere built with perfect bridging of varied scenes. Summing together what mentioned above, this study ascertains the taste of aesthetic life scattered everywhere in Lolan’s lyric prose works.
