Description
Summary:碩士 === 康寧大學 === 地區發展管理研究所 === 97 === From the perspective of the global economy's development, the manufacturing sector has an important role and status. Its exploration on industry cluster phenomenon, industrial structure changes, space, and competitiveness has always been one of the most important issues of the governments and enterprises worldwide. Industry cluster has been considered as an important spatial pattern of industrial development. The manufacturing industry in Taiwan area is selected as the object for this research. In order to understand the industry development and the spatial distribution for now, the relevant survey data was analyzed. This research also explored the application of a different amount of space measurement methods and their results on the manufacturing industry cluster. In the empirical part, this research was divided into two phases. The first stage, this research applied GIS to get the distribution of the overall space of the manufacturing industry during the different time periods. The second stage, this research applied the spatial measurement methods such as Location Quotient, index of concentration, and global spatial autocorrelation etc. to understand the cluster status. According to the analysis of the survey data, cluster status and spatial distribution of the manufacturing sector in the northern, central and southern regions are slightly different. Most situations of clustering and spatial distributions of the manufacturing sector are concentrated in the northern region, and then continued to be central region, and then southern region. Because of the limitation of relevant conditions, the development in the eastern region is behind to other regions. According to the result of concentration of the manufacturing sector calculated from the survey data, a higher degree of concentration areas always near to metropolitan areas or industrial parks, and then gradually relocate to outlying areas.
