This study purposively sampled the researcher’s own students from seven different classes. The total number of participants is 221 students. They participated in eight-week physical education teaching and the questionnaire items of the curriculum designs in physical education instruction, and filled the questionnaire for the comparison of the difference before and after the instruction process. The instrument administered to the subjects was guasi-experiment. In order to promote students’ participation in leisure activity and the time increase of leisure activity, we processed the curriculum designs in physical education instruction and incorporated leisure activity into teaching methods with school activities. The data was processed and analyzed by statistical methods of descriptive statistics and paired test. The result of the research indicated the conclusions as follows: the physical education instruction on ‘leisure activity’ and ‘the time quantity of leisure activity’ were statistically significant. There were significant differences between the different sexes of the students participating in leisure activity and the time quantity of leisure activity. Only the result of swimming does not reach the differences, but the results of the other items do. In the comparison among different grades, there was significant participation increase of swimming among seventh students (P<.05) rather than the eight to ninth-grade students. In the different family backgrounds, the test reaches the differences. According to the result of this study, there were significant differences after carrying out the physical education instruction.
