And school badge is a sub-item of SIS which internally represents the whole school, enhances identification from existing teachers and students and assembles alumni to feel belonging to. For externals, it extends school tuition ideas and education visions. Therefore, school badge has its importance and relation through visual transmission. . The purpose of this research is to explore school badge design of elementary school in Taichung City from a shape image perspective. It also provides a reference to other school or designer when designing a school badge. First of all, all related researches and theories were collected and analyzed. In addition, seventy (70) school badges were collected. The questionnaire was applied to realize what concepts people have on SIS and which important factor respondent was affected due to message released from vision of school badge. The visual design essential element table for school badge was created with Delphi Technique and by a Focus-group, and that was trimmed based on the results of questionnaires. Eventually, the criteria of school badge design were built. The conclusions of this research are as follows: 1. The public keep positive attitude on establishing system of SIS. For the external people, a school badge indeed has the ability to enhance school image with aspects of gathering and identification. 2. Most of people expect that the school badge could be designed by visual transmission professional. And school badge with meaningful and imagination design is most acceptable. 3. In Taichung City, most of elementary school badges have character elements and vigorous, bright and colorful colors are used. Circle and arc with gathering and harmony properties are more appreciated in shape element. 4. Regarding school badge visual image, questionnaire respondents who come from different statuses and backgrounds have the similar recognition and preference. 5. According to questionnaire results, the essential elements of the school badge visual design are in order of importance as the following: (1)color matching between individual drawing units, (2)color matching between drawing unit and character,(3) font of school name, (4)number of colors, (5) effect of font design, (6)physical nature picture, (7) abstract geometry drawing, (8)physical artificial picture,(9) character application and (10)picture related to person.
