This paper announced the age of the integration between Art and Technology was coming to the world. It also has become a common subject which the whole world emphasizes.
Digital Artist, Madeia, S, indicated, “Because computer development in the past twenty year we have no choice but to focus on this oncoming art style and language. An art educator shall early face the trend of science evolution and integrate it into tuition program.” (cited from Chien-Tu Lai, 2002) In the art and humanity subject as identified in 9-year scheme education program by Ministry of Education, technology has been applied in each stage of art education as an ability indication. That means the government emphasizes it very much, in order to build a convenient, beautiful, excellent, technical and humanistic society. Therefore, teachers shall make good use of digital medium technology in art tuition, to make it more efficient, even deeper and wider. And let students deeply feel the convenience brought by new technology, furthermore, inspire the learning interest of digital technology. Researcher has devoted to computer drafting tuition for 7 years which is a subject combines with art and technology. With computer program assistance and aesthetic education through art and humanity, computer has its art life by pouring warm colors, complete model and plenty of cultivations and creations.
There are two stages in this research. In the first stage, the students created digital visual art works by themselves without teacher’s guidance, discussion, comment and analysis during the process. In the second stage, the teacher applied inspiration, guidance, discussion, appreciation based on the spirits of “Constructivism” and “Creation Tuition”. In the mean time, let students brainstormed their creations through technology medium tuition tool, lots of pictures and cartoon materials, also the activity of “Listen to my story”. The “Action Research”, “ISM Analysis”, “Qualitative Analysis” and “Quantitative Analysis” were applied in this research. By observing the interaction and feedback between teacher and students, video-taking throughout the whole tuition, students’ creating processes, case interview and questionnaire. The difference of students obtaining creation inspiration and aesthetic knowledge and ability between these two stages was compared and analyzed. Furthermore, the advantage and disadvantage of the computer drafting tuition program design mode were reviewed as an improvement base for the future.
The conclusions of this research are as follows:
1. Verify this tuition mode which is actually beneficial to students by observing and analyzing student’s class record, creation learning process, interview, and questionnaire.
2. Let students understand the advantages of their works and how to improve defects via teacher’s guidance and joint appreciation and analysis.
3. Using such kind of tuition mode, the knowledge and ability obtained by students are actually built by themselves, not by standardized and rigid listening to the class and spoon-fed memory approach. Students can take these abilities with their whole life. It is also an excellent tuition mode to inspire creation.
Art brings warm colors to computer, and computer rewards with abundant performance styles. These two elements met in the 20th century and stirred with resplendent sparkle in the 21st. Technology art educators bear the responsibility of technology art development in the future. How to create more sparkles would become the major effort target of educators. Based on this research we hope to share with Information Systems and Technology(IS&T)and art teachers the time being of digital medium technology applying to the visual art tuition. IS&T, art and humanity teachers shall aggressively learn and properly make use of digital medium technology to assist tuition, and then, with well tuition program design, teach students to know and to be familiar with digital technology art. After that, we can consequently fly with imagination wings toward the Renaissance of Technology Art Age in the 21st century.
