From this research, it provides the Air Force Academy an important reference for teaching the future basic flying training student pilots. This research has the ability to raise the future student pilots’ flying learning performance, the satisfaction, decrease the student pilots’ learning pressure and raise the student pilots’ percentage of completing training. Abstract
Republic of China’s Air Sovereignty relies on its Air Force, and we also take the responsibility of the frontline for the safety in the Taiwan Strait. Air Force Academy Flying Group Commander, Major General Chu, Yu-Chih brought up a point in one of the regular meetings in the Academy, saying: if the war begins in the Taiwan Strait, winning the war will depend on three factors. One of the factors is the quality of the Air Force pilots. I am currently serving at the Air Force Academy for the basic flying training mission. This essay is to discuss the research regarding the pilots’ learning performance during basic flying training, if the learning satisfaction reaches a good standard, the analysis of whether pilots have learning pressure, and also to find out whether learning pressure causes bad learning performance. Furthermore, the research will enhance the percentage of graduates in the Air Force Academy training, as well as achieve a higher standard for the basic flying training in the Armed Forces.
There is currently no research regarding learning performance, learning satisfaction, learning pressure and the policy for managing pressure problems. Therefore, I can only use some of the articles that relates to any learning effectiveness, learning satisfactory, learning pressure and the solution of pressure as the reference for this research.
In the research conducted, questionnaires were used to ask (Class of 97 and 98) the student pilots in the Air Force Academy basic flying training. The sources of the questionnaires were not only from the related articles, but also from the student pilots’ grades databank, as well as comments from many experienced instructor pilots in the academy. The reasercher also acquired data from the general tests for the student pilots. This research mainly used the questionnaires as the research tool. There were seventy-nine questionnaires, and seventy nine effective questionnaires were collected back. The return rate was 100%. The data analysis would use mean value, factors analysis and single factor variant analysis.
This is the result of the research:
1. Comprehended that the learning performance was higher than the mean value.
2. Comprehended that the student pilots’ learning satisfaction was higher than the mean value; the learning performance and the learning satisfaction were showing positive correlation.
3. Comprehended that the learning pressure did not affect learning. The learning performance is showing a negative correlation with learning satisfaction, and they are not directly related.
4. Brought up that the solution of pressure can effectively help the student pilots in the basic flying training to cope with the learning pressure.
This research is the first one in the nation that relates to learning pressure, learning performance, learning satisfaction as well as the solution of pressure for the basic flying training student pilots. From this research, it provides the Air Force Academy an important reference for teaching the future basic flying training student pilots. This research has the ability to raise the future student pilots’ flying learning performance, the satisfaction, decrease the student pilots’ learning pressure and raise the student pilots’ percentage of completing training.
Key words: learning performance, learning satisfaction, learning pressure, solution of pressure
