The piezoelectric transformer is designed by the geometrical shape, the dimensions, the polarization direction, the direction of external electric field, and the electric electrodes. In this study, the resonant frequency equations for the piezoelectric transformers are derived,and the mode shapes for the piezoelectric rings are also obtained. In addition, finite element analysis method is also used to verify the theoretical results. The resonant frequencies, vibration modes and input impedance are compared in this study. Then, the characteristics of the ring-type piezoelectric transformer will be measured and discussed in order to know more about the transformer.
