Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 電機工程系 === 97 === Blast Furnace process play a unique role on the hot metal production for iron and steel industry, which extremely relied on a high-flow and high-pressure air source, so-called『cold blast』as the reaction medium of blast furnace, therefore, to find a stable cold blast is very important for blast furnace production. At present, the world's major blast furnaces are mainly equipped with the large-scale axial-flow blowers, but the driver for blowers can be into two categories, one is the steam turbine drive, and the other is the electric motor drive. For the largest steel mill of Taiwan - China Steel Corporation, the steam boiler steam turbine driven blowers were put into operation, there are total six steam turbine-driven blowers to provide the necessary cold blast for four blast furnaces. But for the Dragon Steel Corporation, a subsidiary company of China Steel Corporation, there is a different way to select the electric motor-driven blower for the usage. The purpose of this study was aimed mainly at data analysis and comparison on the aspect of engineering philosophy, characteristics, project development background between these two different drivers. As well, effect on energy consumption and impact of process synthesis are also incorporated into this study. In addition to look forward to some useful reference data collection for the future operation and maintenance strategy, I also hope to develop a systematic method of assessment in a multi-objective optimization decision-making model to be applied on other similar project. Much of the information quoted in this study is from the information provided by the major world steel mills, equipment suppliers and China Steel Corporation via the systematic collection, collation, analysis and comparison of data.
