Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 資訊工程系 === 97 === The IEEE 802.16 network provides high speed, secure and wide range wireless network services. Although the IEEE 802.16 standard provided the main principles in designing a QoS architecture to support multimedia applications, the important issue is like uplink bandwidth allocation left to vendors. Recently, lots of researches in uplink bandwidth allocation are focusing on fairness and system throughput and the issues how to allocation bandwidth efficiently in IEEE 802.16 network becomes indispensable.
This thesis proposed a High Performance WiMAX DBA Algorithm by Using Max-Min Fair Sharing Policy (MMFS-DBA) that focused on fairness, dropping rate, and system throughput. This Algorithm divided two parts:First, bandwidth reservation for rtPS connections and extended the max-min fair sharing policy for QoS provisioning. Second, modify the IEEE 802.16 Generic MAC Header for piggybacking the SS queue status that is useful for BS to allocate bandwidth efficiently. The MMFS-DBA algorithm could efficiently allocate bandwidth to improve the urgent multimedia requirements and provide more QoS guarantee in IEEE 802.16 network.
