infrastructure for different kinds of services. Examples include digital
publication, digital learning, online digital libraries, and electronic
commerce. However, the network environment and its underlying protocol are
increasingly complicated. As a result, how to systematically and correctly
classify and manage network traffics has become an important and challenging
issue. Without an effective management system, the network administrators
cannot efficiently control the bandwidth used by each IP, the flow comes
from which communication protocol, and how much ratio of every application
occupies. The purpose of this research is to implement a network traffic
collection and management system. Then proposed system can collect the flow
of every monitored IP, and recognize the network application of each flow.
We also design and implement some mechanisms to extract the characteristic
of each flow and store them into a database, so that we can gather
statistics and analyze every IP flow of the specific application at any
time. In order to achieve the purpose of monitoring network resources, it
also provides a user friendly graphic interface to find the flow by
affording parameter of IP, time interval or application types.
