Description
Summary:碩士 === 崑山科技大學 === 機械工程研究所 === 97 === Biogenic mechanisms in environment protection are gaining significance as the earth is facing severe climate change. As an example, shellfish farming in considered an effect way for algae control and mediating global carbon cycle. Calcium carbonate crystallization is a biogenic process. This work uses hyaluronan to simulate organic matrix to observe how organic matrix control forming of nanograins which are more stable than calcite or aragonite. One third of carbon dioxide emission is absorbed by the ocean, and this but generate some detrimental effects. As CO2 level increases, carbonate changes to bicarbonate to stabilize water pH water. Ocean acidification caused by emission of carbon dioxide is particularly detrimental to calcifying organisms. As a result, invasion of completing algae is becoming more serious. Shellfish and many calcifying organisms play a crucial role in converting bicarbonate back to carbonate. The structure of their shells provides useful information for the study.
