Many air compressors may be running at efficiencies as low as 10 percent. Compressed air is one of the most expensive sources of energy in a plant. Improving air compressors efficiency can yield significant savings to your facility. The air compressor performances test laboratory was established. Three 10HP air compressors were tested. The air flow rate, volume efficiency, adiabatic thermal efficiency, and energy consumption ratio were compared under various exhaust pressures. The test results showed that the performance for brand A air compressor is best of the three compressors.
