It is also established that lead may cause high blood pressure, chronic heart disease, and ischemic heart disease. Cardiovascular disease risk factors refer to obesity, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and high blood fat. These symptoms will be a higher chance of cardiovascular disease. The present study was claimed at investigating among lead expose, 8-OHdG and cardiovascular disease. This is a community-based study carried out during 2001-2002 and 2005-2006. The research areas from the areas of high industry density collected 532 effective samples and the areas of low industry density collected 543 effective samples. Subjects were between 35 to 65 years old who reside in the areas of research longer than 5 years. The basic information of research targets was collected through the designed questionnaires and the samples of urine, blood, and hair were gathered for the analyzing body burden lead concentration medium. This research has three objectives: 1.To determine lead concentrations and related exposure factors in the residents. 2.To Investigate the correlation between lead concentration and cardiovascular disease risk factors. 3. To discussion the correlation between lead concentration and 8-OHdG concentration. Mean blood lead concentration of male was 33.64μg/L, female was 24.00μg/L; Mean urine lead concentration of male was 1.76μg/g cre., female was 1.88μg/g cre.; Mean hair concentration of male 1.91μg/g, female was 3.47μg/g. Increased lead levels were significantly correlation of alcohol drinking, betel nut chewing, and cigarette smoking. Considering the relevant factors, lead concentration were significant correlation with cholesterol, triglyceride, and HDL. Urine lead concentration were significantly correlation with 8-OHdG(r=0.094, p<0.001). Lead is probably a risk factor in cardiovascular disease. Chiung-Yu Peng 彭瓊瑜 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 88 zh-TW
