Among these studies, the extract exhibited significantly inhibitory effect on production of free radicals. In this study, kaempferol (5) was first isolated from fruit of Rhus javanice L. var. roxburghiana. On the other way, four compounds, taxifolin (1) ,2,3-cis-3,4- trans-7,4’-dihydroxy- flavan-3β,4β-diol (2) , fustin (3), 7,3’,4’-trihydroxy-flavone (4), previously isolated, from the stem of this plant were performed DPPH, ABTS, and xanthine oxidase assays. Compounds (1), (2) and (3) showed significantly inhibitory activity. As these result shown, taxifolin (1) was found as a potent xanthine oxidase inhibitor. Based on chemotaxonomic theory, the above four compounds (1)-(4) may be also appears in the extract of fruit of this plant. Chung-Nan Lin 林忠男 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 77 zh-TW
