Twin-wheels vehicle industry (including bicycle industry and motorcycle industry) contributed a very important role in transportation vehicle industry and its part keep increase as the nature resources diminishing. Whether Export oriented twin-wheels vehicle industry has the capability to face globalization and diminishing nature resources has become a nameable topic in our country.
The objective of this study is using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to evaluate productivity of the twin-wheels vehicle industry. The results show that Pihsiang Machinery Mfg. Co. excelled in CCR efficiency, BCC efficiency, scale efficiency, and assurance region analysis. Merida Industry Co. standed out in Anderson and Peterson (A&P) model analysis. In the sensitivity analysis, the number of efficient DMU decreased by 3 when the variable of total assets and shareholders equity is eliminated. In the assurance region analysis, results show that as the weight range increased, the entire average efficiency values also increase. In the Malmquist index analysis, Merida Industry Co expanded highly and changes quickly. This study also provides some directions to improving efficiency for those inefficient companies.
