Summary: | 碩士 === 義守大學 === 管理學院碩士班 === 97 === The study suggest that people firstly consider if problem context can be resolved independently, secondly consider the gap of absorptive capacity between themselves and knowledge receivers – that is, the gap of direct competitiveness between two parties, and finally adopt different type of knowledge share strategy to ensure and advance competitive advantages according to the functions of different kinds of knowledge. The kinds of knowledge can be divided into information and know-how that sharing information will not lose competitive advantages while sharing expertise will.
The study applied qualitative research to have depth interview of eight cases. After conducting inductive analysis, we concluded that sharing information or know-how will not lead to loss of competitive advantages when knowledge sharers have significantly better competitiveness than direct competitors, which is called secure sharing strategy; knowledge sharers will only share information without know-how to reserve competitive advantages and even apply feedback from knowledge receivers to create their own competitive advantages when sharers notice that the gap of competitiveness with direct competitors is quite small, which is called conservative sharing strategy; and that knowledge sharers will mutually benefit and share with direct competitors to create competitive advantages together when sharers cannot resolve problem context independently, which is called mutual sharing strategy.
The study, in terms of abovementioned consequences, proposed a knowledge share strategy mode to clarify the relationship among sharing context, competition, knowledge share strategy and competitive advantages for people, and defined knowledge sharing behavior as people strategically applying knowledge to gain competitive advantages.
