In this study, I researched on the theories of Maslow’s Need-hierarchy theory and its effect on youth’s enlistment motivation. My research objects are students who are targets of the recruitment project, with age between 18 to 25 years old, and are currently studying in senior high schools or universities. Date was collected through questionnaires, and various statistical methods, such as Chi-square goodness of fit test, T test, and ANOVA, were used in the analysis. The findings are as follows: 1.Personal attributes, such as“sex”,“education level”, and“family experience in military service”, are significantly correlated to questionee’s willingness to military service. 2.Across the Maslow’s Need-hierarchy, men and women are significantly different in their perception of needs. 3.Difference in family income, parents occupation, and parents education level, reflects significant difference on questionee’s Physiological needs, Safety needs, Belongingness needs; Social needs, Self-esteem needs, Self-actualization needs. 4.The degree of needs in Maslow’s Need-hierarchy has no influence to people’s decision on voluntary military service.
