A cross-sectional design was adopted and data were collected sample of 190, aged from 40 to 64 middle age adult via self-reported questionnaires , which presented a 90% of the response rate. Percentage, mean, standard deviation, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation and stepwise regression analysis were used for data analysis. The main findings of the study are as follows:(1)The target group was around 51.89 years old in average;the mean score of overall health-promoting lifestyles was 58.05 and the highest score was the interpersonal support, nutrition, self- actualization, stress management, exercise, and the lowest was responsibility;in the self-efficacy of health promoting lifestyle, the highest score was interpersonal support, nutrition, responsibility, exercise, self- actualization, and the lowest was stress management.(2)The elders, sub-professionals, the better perceived health status, and self-efficacy of health promoting lifestyle scores were higher, would have better health-promotion lifestyle.(3)Self-efficacy of health promoting lifestyle of the subjects were the significant predictors and explained 85.2% of the variance of health-promoting lifestyles. Based on the results of this study, the following suggestions are proposed: for different demographic characteristics and to assessment the middle-aged adult can be sure of the degree-oriented, and then involvement of health-promoting activities, the school may teach health-promoting lifestyle program, the establishment of the middle age adult health promotion policies and strategies in order to achieve health-promoting lifestyle.
