Description
Summary:碩士 === 華梵大學 === 工業設計學系碩士班 === 97 === The art of characters is the very thing that differentitates Chinese culture from others. The way of writing Chinese is called the calligraphy. Because of the popularity of Olymic games in Beijing, the art of calligraphy has been applied in many product, many of which belong to graphic design or printing on the product. It has, however, seldon people to do with the product images. In light of this, the designer attempted to explore the method of applying Chinese calligraphy in product form to serve as designer's reference in new product design. In this study, we first scanned the scripts of Chang Shiuh (張旭) , Tang Dynasty and classified the characters in the script. Then we reorganized the characters to form some meaningful phrases and explored the possibility of the form and meaning to approach product form. After that, phrases difficult for product form were deleted and the rest, for example, painting (丹青), water and wine (水酒), shadow in the water (倒景入水), were analyzed for product design. According to the image of shadow in the water, we decided to apply the calligraphy as modeling design presenting by the floor lamp form. Using “Jue”(爵), bronzes of ancient Chinese utensil as the prototype of the modeling of product, and placing in the middle shadow in the water of three-dimensional modeling which is created by Chinese calligraphy skill. To present the effect from the reflection of light, a black and white contrast of calligraphu from the ink marks(positive) and the blank(negative).
