碩士 === 華梵大學 === 工業工程與經營資訊學系碩士班 === 97 === ABSTRACTS The purpose of the research was to investigate the current situation and relationship between personality, job stress and leisure activities among working class. Questionnaires with convenience sampling was utilized as research method in this study. The participants of this study were employees from various industries in Taiwan. There were totally 433 questionnaires received and 427 questionnaires were valid. The valid received rate was 98.61%. There were four parts in the questionnaire, including personal background information, personality scale, job stress scale and open-ended questions for leisure styles and modes. After data collecting, data analyzing and discussing, the conclusions of the current study were as follows. First, there were significant differences between job grades, educational background and incomes from personal attributes concerning the distribution of personality. Second, there were significant differences between ages, marriages, years of working experiences, status of children and incomes from personal attributes concerning job stress. Third, there were significant differences on personality among the employees from various industries. The major personality trait of financial service industries was type A+. Forth, there were significant differences on job stress among the employees from various industries. The job stress of financial service industries were higher than other industries. Fifth, there were not any significant differences for job stress among employees from various industries concerning different personality. Moreover, there were not any significant differences between job stress and personality. Sixth, the major leisure activities took by working class in weekdays were static activities, such as listening to music and watching TV. The major activities for weekends or day-offs were outdoor activities, such as countryside traveling and mountain climbing. The major activities for planned holidays (Chinese New Year or continuous holidays) were traveling domestically or abroad. Seventh, most of the employees (68.1%) from various industries ensured that job stress could be reduced by appropriate leisure activities.
