Hot springs exist where the “hot spots,” geological locations where the ground releases thermal energy from the earth, are. Since hot springs locate above these spots, the hotels that offer these hot springs have become well-liked destinations of vacations these years. There are several hot spring spots that have become more popular and developed over the past couple of years, for example, Jhi-Ben, Hong-Ye, and Jing-Lun Hot Spring Spots in Taitung. Compare to other cities, Taidong is still in the process of developing, and its transportation is still not very convenient, and this lack of convenience has became one of the stopping stones of Taitung’s traveling market. This study focuses on Taitung, the “blocked market”, and examines the key to success of managing a hot spring resort. I will interview several of successors and managers in these hot spring resorts and find out their key to success of managing in the “blocked market” of Taitung. My study will track as the following: 1.Study and examine past studies 2.Summarize the interview outline. 3.Visit Taitung’s local hotel managers and discuss about and document the true hotel management’s developments and results. 4.Based on Core Resource Theory, analyze each individual study and interview, then note the key to the success of hotel managements in Taitung. 5.Using the extraordinary key successes as institutions, ascertain the special key success to each individual case. Then offer local hotel managers this particular study, to help them better understand the rout to Taitong’s hot-spring resort managements’ successes.
