A total of 560 managers from Tae Kwon Do clubs registered by the Chinese Taipei Tae Kwon Do Association were selected to participate in the study. A researcher self-developed instrument, “Management Concepts, Difficulties and Coping Strategies in Taiwan’s Tae Kwon Do Clubs Survey”, was used to collect data. The study found: 1. A typical Tae Kwon Do Club’s manager was male, aging 31-40 years old, was certified the fifth rank, holding a bachelor’s degree and was married; most clubs were 6-10 years old, 1116-1440 square feet in space, self-owned, with an enrollment of 31-40 members, employed teaching assistants, and did not hire administrative clerks. 2. Among the managing concepts, “Ideals in teaching” were most valued by the mangers; “Marketing Factors” were viewed as the most troublesome aspect; and “Instruction Strategies” were regarded as the most important consideration in running a Tae Kwon Do Club. 3. Managers who were younger, lower in rank, higher in educational degree, unmarried and worked in clubs that were more recently established, smaller in space, paying higher rents, with more members, did not hire teaching assistants, and did hire administrative clerks had a significantly higher recognition level on the managing concepts than their counterparts. 4. Managers who were male, younger, lower in rank, higher in educational degree, unmarried and worked in clubs that were more recently established, larger in space, paying higher rents, with less members, did hire teaching assistants and administrative clerks had a significantly higher perception level on the managing difficulties than their counterparts. 5. Managers who were male, younger, lower in rank, higher in educational degree, unmarried and worked in clubs that were more recently established, larger in space, paying higher rents, with more members, did not hire teaching assistants, and did hire administrative clerks had a significantly stronger perception level on the managing strategies than their counterparts. 6. There were significant positive correlations between managers’ perceptions on managing concepts, managing difficulties and coping strategies. Yang, Chih-hsien 楊志顯 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 149 zh-TW
