Description
Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 護理學系碩士班 === 97 === Abstract The purpose of this study is to investigate factors associated with quality of sexual life of patients after coronary artery bypass graft surgery. A longitudinal, descriptive correlational design was used in this study. Using convenience sampling, 70 patients with coronary artery bypass graft surgery were recruited from a medical center in middle Taiwan. All participants were interviewed before the surgery and three months after surgery. The data was collected by interviewers with a structural questionnaire including demographic and clinical characteristics, sexual knowledge, communication between spouse , anxiety, perceived health status, and quality of sexual life. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, , Chi-square test, and Multiple-regression analysis using SPSS software, version 14 (Chicago, IL, USA). The following results were found: 1. Before CABG, average score of the quality of sexual life was 110.06. After CABG, average score of the quality of sexual life was 93.31 . There are no significant difference on quality of sexual life between before and after CABG. The libido was significant limited after CABG than before CABG. The sexual response after CABG was worse than before CABG. 2. Before CABG, factors associated with quality of sexual life (libido, sexual problem, sexual relationship, sexual response) include: age, sex, duration of coronary artery disease, oral hypoglycemic drugs, lipid lowering drugs, sexual knowledge, communication between spouse. 3. After CABG, factors associated with quality of sexual life (libido, sexual problem, sexual relationship, sexual response) include: age, sex, education, duration of coronary artery disease, type and number arteries of bypass grafting, oral hypoglycemic drugs, anxiety, and perceived health status. 4. Before CABG, predictive factors of quality of sexual life include: age, duration of coronary artery disease, and communication between spouse. The three factors explained 35.3% of the variance; After CABG, age was the only predictive factor of quality of sexual life. It explained 8.2% of the variance. 5. Before CABG, there was no significant difference on quality of sexual life between robot-assisted surgery and median sternotomy surgery. However, quality of sexual life of patients after surgery with robot-assisted surgery was significant better than patients with median sternotomy. The results confirmed that quality of sexual life of patients with CABG is affected by multiple factors. Therefore, nurses should assess quality of sexual life of patients and recognized the related factors. Then, nurses should evaluate patients’ quality of sexual life based on individual need to promote their quality of sexual life.
