The preface describes the objective motivation and subjective motivation of the movie entitled “Cape No. 7.” The objective motives of the movie are portrayed to a widespread Taiwanese audience in such a way that the movie has had a strong influence on the lives of ordinary Taiwanese people. The argument of the first part of the chapter is that the objective motive of the movie is to present the contemporary condition and status of the life of Taiwanese people. From the angle of current conditions and the state of life education in Taiwan, a viewing audience can understand the values appropriate to the contemporary lives the film portrays, and how the film contributes to a life education curriculum. Next, according to various summarized objective factors, this research study shares ideas of how to explore the film “Cape No. 7”. The thesis will demonstrate that it is appropriate and valuable to apply the contemporary life in the film to a contemporary life education curriculum. In addition, the last part of the chapter is also about the subjective motivation of the film. This part will express the researcher’s purpose for choosing contemporary life education as a value and for applying life education as an appropriate way to view this particular film. Chapter I introduces the contemporary conditions and status of Taiwan film life education in accordance with a number of views of relevant scholars. Also, the researcher will discuss dimensions for a study of life education. Chapter II introduces a theory of fantasy theme criticism, which the researcher uses as a form of rhetorical criticism to analyze relevant literature. The researcher also attempts here to review various themes of the movie to show how to understand its sharing of homogeneity and identity. Finally, in this chapter the researcher also discusses ways the film establishes an atmosphere to persuade the audience to be sympathetic to its ideas. Chapter III depicts the basis of my motivation and purpose to do research on life education and research theory. I use the design method of the fantasy theme to analyze the movie “Cape No. 7” in a practical way. The focus of chapter four is on how to carry out the fantasy theme and the sanctioning agent. Chapter V relates to Chapter IV as for the theme of fantasy and the sanctioning agent. This chapter describes a large summarized rhetorical vision and explains the fantasy theme analysis and critical evaluation. The remaining part of the chapter explores the question of relationships within the community chain out, the results of the film’s impact on its audience, and analyzes how Cape No. 7 expresses its values, ideas, and so forth. The conclusion views the results of the research study in accordance with the previous chapters. It also points out the limitations of the process during the course of the research study. The researcher also makes suggestions for further research.
