In order to realize the different performance of information education, the study investigated the relationships between the performance of two background variables, the principals’ information literacy and their schools’ implementation of information education. This study invited the principals of the elementary and the junior high schools in I-lan as the population of questionnaire. With the completion rate of the questionnaires being 94.05%, there were totally 95 valid questionnaires from 101 principals. Meanwhile, interviews were conducted to six I-lan County elementary and junior high school principals. According to the results of data analysis, the main findings were as follows: 1.The average score of information literacy of elementary and junior high school principals in I-lan County was 4.06. The overall performance was in good level. 2.The average score of the performance of information education of schools in I-lan County was 3.81. It indicated that the information education of the entire schools was at the middle-high situation. 3.The information literacy of I-Lan County elementary and junior high school principals did not differ with statistical significance from the variables related to principals’ background. The results of the interview showed that, taking the information ability examination, with younger age, attending training courses, principal election, evaluation system of the school administration, and the role of the principal turning to the technology leader in the school were diminishing the individual difference of the information literacy for the school principal in I-Lan County. 4.The schools’ performance of information education in I-Lan County did not differ with statistical significance form the variables related to schools’ backgrounds. Interviews with six school principals indicated that schools with the sufficient teaching facilities and environment offered by the authorities, intra-school cooperation with computerized teaching, and the contribution of a large amount of education fund were diminishing the individual difference of the schools’ implementation of information education in I-Lan County. 5.There was a positive relationship between the information literacy of school principles and the implementation of schools’ information education. 馮 瑞 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 141 zh-TW
