Since the end of September in 1993, the elderly population in Taiwan aging over 65 years old was accounted for 7.09% of the total population. By the end of 2008, the elderly population has increased and was accounted for 10.4% of the total population. The result reveals that aging population has become an increasingly serious problem and will lead to an increasing burden on the National Health Insurance. This study paper attempts to make a comprehensive analysis on the drug fees, examination and material fees, as well as pharmaceutical service fees for all ages, elderly population, and the information on population growth from 1999 to 2007, in order to identify the extend of aging impacts on the entire health care resources. The data analysis reveals that the medical expense has increased from the 353 billion NT Dollars in 2002 to 403.1 billion NT Dollars in 2007, with an increment of 69.6 billion NT dollars. Among which drug fees alone has increased from 90.5 billion in 2002 to 117 billion in 2007, with an increment in 2.65 billion and accounted for 38.07% of total medical expenses; while the medical expenses in 2007 only accounted for 29.03% of the total medical expenses. Moreover, the drug fee for the elderly aged 65 and above was 40.5 billion which accounted for 34.62% of the total drug fees of 117 billion. When analyzing with basis on the average drug consumption for all ages, taking 2007 as an example, the elderly aged 65 or above averaged at NT$17,285; while exceeding the amount of NT$6,083 for the population aged from 35 to 64; NT$1,727 for population aged from 15 to 34; and NT$1,712 for population aged from 0 to 14. The result reveals a significant impact of aging problem on drug expenses and medical care resources. A further induction on the population indicates that the elderly population will reach 14.7% of the total population by 2018, and reaching 37.5% by 2056, under which the result will place a relatively burden on the National Health Insurance. 曾銘深 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 63 zh-TW
