To perform the electro-mechanical-acoustical (EMA) simulation of a microspeaker, it is required to measure lumped parameters by the acoustic instruments. In this study we use both LMS and Klippel measuring systems to measure the lumped parameters of 5 microspeakers of the same type. The lumped parameters are used in the EMA equivalent circuit to calculate the sound pressure level of the microspeakers. To account for the higher modal shapes of the diaphragm in the high frequency range, we use the finite element analysis to calculate the mechanical impedance of the diaphragm-voice coil assembly. The simulation of sound pressure level agrees very well with the experimental results. For a better performance analysis of microspeakers, this study proposes an EMA simulation model which combines the LR-2 model for the electromagnetic part, the traditional mechanical impedance, and an equivalent hole for the acoustic impedance.
