While, unable to discover the customers’ actual needs may lead to revise the design again and again. The coordination problems are also brought into divisions of design and manufacturing of enterprise. As a result, the overall cost is increased and the profit of ODM enterprise is decreased. This research proposes a model of “design and manufacturing for excellence”. The model includes two portions: one is to apply Kano model to discovering quality requirements of customer satisfaction, and the other is to apply Fishbone diagram to revealing the defection of production that are caused by poor design. By combining these two methods, a practical model is developed to provide economy operation for ODM enterprise, in this research. A case study is provided to illustrate this approach. The following results are discovered from the case study: 1.The model may provide more clear design requirements revealed from the customers’ satisfaction. The frequency of revising design is therefore decreased, and 2.The model increases the integration of design and production. Consequently, the utilization of resources is improved, and. 3.When applied to ODM, the quality of design and manufacturing are both improved and so as the satisfaction of customers.
