碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 經營管理碩士在職專班 === 97 === In Europe and the U.S., long-term care institution is one of the choices for taking care of seniors. However, it might not be the best choice or the most cost-efficient choice for seniors who need less health care. It is common nowadays that home care or community-based long-term care helps to keep seniors at home with self-care services and extend their quality of life. Staying by aging in a familiar environment is a trend worldwide. People wish to stay in their hometown when aging because they feel most comfortable at home. Simple remodeling can easily build a secure, comfortable, and convenient environment. Based on Taiwanese community- and home-based aging life style, this research has tried to explore the holistic equipment needs of home security and care for an ideal quality of life of senior people. Through qualitative research, we find that the equipment needs of security and care for senior people aging in place or at home could be somehow different from which of other kinds of long-term care model.
