Therefore, this article discussed how the Taiwan photovoltaic industry should utilize our country’s strong foundation in the semiconductor industry, the excellent power electronics technology, and the talented individuals and abilities of research and development to develop the localization and core competition of Taiwan photovoltaic industry. First of all, regarding the solar cell’s upstream, midstream, and downstream, this research conducted a more complete analysis of present situation and an industrial analysis, along with an analysis of the solar cell’s present and future application. Then, the research was geared toward the technology cooperation and planning trend of the solar cell companies “Motech” and “E-TON Power Tech”, and an introduction was made. Since the patented technology’s crucial key lay mostly in the production process of the solar cell, all cooperational directions of the patented technology were located there. Looking forward to the next 20 years, every year the solar cell industry experiences a two digit growth,so there is a possibility of a lawsuit sooner or later.By simply improving the conversion efficiency or OEM/ODM,it does not mean that they will live in peace with each other. Therefore, the cooperation with big brands demands immediate attention. Regarding the solar energy industry, this research used the analytical tools of value chain analysis and SWOT analysis to discuss the four elements of the core competition in Taiwan solar cell industry. The four elements are technology cooperation, technology licensing, patent licensing, and industry alliance.Besides, this research proposed competitive strategies of how Taiwan should integrate present production and development so that Taiwan could establish a specific positioning in the global photovoltaic industry and develop its unique competitive advantages.
