Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 航太與系統工程所 === 97 === The major purpose of this thesis is to explore a NDI technique for thick wood laminates composites examination. When a thick wood laminate composite is taken out from the autoclave and the bag is removed, the laminated plastics edge and seals are melted as one piece. Some areas along the edges are not suitable for use and must be cut inevitably. However, to increase the effective usage areas, a NDI technique is required to evaluate the bonding quality of those edges in order to distinguish a good one from a bad one for subsequent processing. After assessing all available NDI techniques, we find that ultrasonic testing is an appropriate one. The methodology is using high and low frequency ultrasonic probes to C-Scan the thick wood laminate composites respectively. After scanning, data are collected and analyzed using ultrasonic software package according to the amplitudes of the reflected pulses. Detection ability of the defect is quantified and evaluated. Testing results and actual photos are compared back-to-back for building up the database. Finally those databases are correlated, calibrated and used as production quality inspection criteria.
