Summary: | 碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 紡織工程所 === 97 === The modified point stress criterion and the finite element software ANSYSR for predicting the notched strength of braided composite plates with symmetric edge semi-circular holes is presented here. This analysis procedure includes three steps : first , assume that unit-cell is iso-strain , and the effective engineering moduli are calculated by rule of mixture and stiffness average method. Second , unnotched and notched tensile strengths are obtained by experiments. Third , the characteristic length (d0) is obtained from the tensile test simulation in ANSYSR. The result of analysis indicate that the characteristic length (d0) increases with the ratio of hole diameter and specimen width. Moreover , power-law relationship between the characteristic length (d0) and the ratio of hole diameter and specimen width is acquired by least square fitting. Using this power-law relationship the characteristic length (d0) and notched strength of braided composite plates of various hole size are predicted accurately.
