Summary: | 碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 材料與製造工程所 === 97 === The function of connector contacts is to provide connector with signal or to conduct electricity. In general, connector contacts are made by progressive die for mass production. Therefore, production lines must be regularly checked, and the problems including dent, distortion, bending angle and bending deflection have to be carefully controlled. These are the most important works in the production. The purpose of this study aims at investigating and improving the deflection of connector contacts due to bending in the stamping process by using progressive die.
This study applies the Taguchi method for the experiment and analysis of production. It is found that the primary factors affecting bending deflection in multiply continuous work steps are knife edge wear and blanking clearance. Using Taguchi’s orthogonal arrays for conducting the experiment of varying control factors systematically and efficiently, and then employing the analysis of variance for the evaluation of experimental error, the optimal process parameters can then be found. The problem of bending deflection can finally be effectively improved by the confirmation experiment. The optimal process parameters are as follows,
1. The shot at the second blanking work step is 3000 times.
2. The shot at the first blanking work step is 3000 times.
3. Die displacement is 0.005 mm for the adjustment of blanking clearance in the second work step.
4. Die displacement is 0.005 mm for the adjustment of blanking clearance in the first work step.
