These aminoalcohols have been used as catalysts for the enantioselective addition reaction of diethylzinc to benzaldehyde. We have found that different aminoalcohols may catalyze the addition reaction to obtain various ratio of enantiomers, albeit that the enantioselectivity is not as high as what we expected.
