Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 建築研究所 === 97 === The main concern in this thesis is about the Beipu traditional settlement preservation in Hsinchu County. We focus on the public participation in "The earlier stage plan before registration of the Beipu traditional settlement in Hsinchu." In this thesis, we have the entire records of the preservation plans and actions in Beipu in last few years. Our purpose is to chronicle the historical preservation approaches we have taken, results we have had, and all problems we have faced during those years. We hope to help future researchers understand what we have done, and additionally try to identify the remaining problems in Beipu. Thus, they can easily modify the ongoing plans, and make more suitable plans for future region development. Through past experiences, we know that settlement preservation is different from case to case . Public participation is plays a critical role in most preservation cases. People who have the desire to preserve his/her settlements are the ones who researchers look to for an easy way to success. The manner in which we researched went as follows: first of all, we completed an investigation of the surrounding area in Beipu settlement. Then we discussed how to put the settlement preservation theory into practice, and the influences to the Beipu settlement. We tried to use some different preservation approaches from traditional ways. For example, we held many discussions and sponsored many activities with the community instead of proposing to directly execute our plans. We hope citizens can identify themselves by the settlement. If we can turn their attitudes and thoughts into actions, preservation will be easy. According to these reasons, we focus on public participation. In this thesis we will show how to put these theories into practice in spreading settlement preservation ideas. We hope our Beipu settlement preservation experiences can be a guide to some other countries in Taiwan that hope to preserve their settlements in the future.
