Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 宗教研究所 === 97 === English Brief Hua Hsing Childrens Home was founded by Madame Chiang Kai-shek in early 1955.It has been forty years so far. At first, the home offered schooling from kindergarten to the sixth grade of elementary school. In 1958, a high school was added to the home. And in 1969, the high school began to develop a training plan for the potential baseball players. At present, schooling is from first grade to senior high. The home is established as a charitable institution for the nuture and eduction of children. Orphans of national martyrs or military personnel, helpless orphans, refugee children, and other poor civilian children are accepted. Students are provided free with food, clothes, lodging, education, and other essentials. The homes elementary and high school graduates have totaled more than 4000. They are making out very well either in their further studies or in every walk of life. Especially, the baseball players are not enough to supply the demand for more players. Madame Chiang has been dedicated to charities since 1927. She aided the late president Chiang in the establishment of schools for children of revolutionary martyrs. During the Sino-Japanese War(1937-1945),she led the women to set up 48 wartime orphanages almost in every province of the Chinese Mainland. Those who have been cared for and fostered reach tens of thousands. Among them are some outstanding ones whose services to the country are recognized and praiseworthy.
