Summary: | 碩士 === 中山醫學大學 === 營養學研究所 === 97 === Indigofera suffruticosa Mill is the source of dye indigo and a perennial Fabaceae shrub plant. The blue indigo is obtained from the extract of leaves.
In this study, both aqueous extracts and methanol extracts of the whole Indigofera suffruticosa Mill have no toxicity effect on Sprague Dawley (SD). In the model system of lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced inflammatory reactions in mouse RAW264.7 macrophage cells, both aqueous extracts and methanol extracts of Indigofera suffruticosa Mill can reduce the production of nitric oxide. In addition, they can also inhibit the expression of iNOS in mouse RAW264.7 macrophage cells. In conclusion, the aqueous extracts and methanol extracts of Indigofera suffruticosa Mill can suppress the immune response of LPS-induced inflammatory reactions in mouse RAW264.7 macrophage cells through the inhibition of iNOS express and suppress the production of nitric oxide.
