Summary: | 碩士 === 長榮大學 === 視覺藝術研究所 === 97 === With modern society has entered into the 21st century, female fashion is still popular, the main reason is that fashion business undertakers predict future trend and carry out promotion and marketing. The fashion trend of dressing, making up, and weight-reducing guided by TV, on-line Medias and advertisements has deeply influenced women’s value system. Women pay attention to clothing except for meeting their own love for beauty and making themselves looks beautiful, it is also a means of competing with other women, seizing higher position, and winning social dominance and personal prestige. The clothing aesthetics formed by that women dress up themselves for some demands is key point of this thesis. Modern clothing aesthetics is affected very little by genic factors, but affected most by fashion industry, popular culture and post-modernism factors. Each cultural group will invent ideas and symbols according to its demands. Body symbols may show one’s social position, domination right, relationship with others, undertaking creations related to aesthetics, the mode of increasing sexual attraction, or other unknown meanings.
The key point of the thesis is to discuss fashion’s impact on modern women, the inseparable connection between feminism fashion and clothing aesthetics, and the manifestation of personal viewpoints about modern popular fashion by the means of creation.
In the preface of Chapter One, the study’s intention and aims, methods and structure, research range and limit, and definition of words (fashion, post-modernism, and feminism) are respectively explained. Chapter Two is about modern feminism fashion and the impact of post-modernism; it respectively introduces documents and discussions related to fashion, the impact of post-modernism on feminism fashion, and female fashion. Chapter Three is about theoretical basis of creation, it introduces compound media materials, Art Nouveau, the paintings analysis of Klimt, and the decoration of modern feminism artistic works. Chapter Four is about creative concepts and practice; it mainly introduces creative concepts, overall works analysis, individual works analysis, the explanation of referenced works. Chapter Five is the conclusion of the study; it illustrates the impact of fashion on modern life, and the relation between fashion and artistic creation, and expects the possibility of future development of creation.
