The research of the relationship between reciprocity and sharing – NPO’s volunteers’ willingness of joining Time Banks.

Thus, there is still having disadvantaged minorities, so voluntary services have been a popular discussion. Time Banks could offer service sharing let someone gets what he/she need in a limited capital situation. In addition, Time Banks hope to spread reciprocity to link the network of people, rebuild community and contribute social welfare. Therefore, the concept should be paying attention in limited resource situation. But the research of Time Banks was not general, and people in Taiwan didn't hear the name of Time Banks even though it had been developed for 20 years in overseas and spread for more than 10 years in Taiwan. So this research try to use bibliography analysis to discuss Time Banks with the important of social and the effect of NPO. Then, establish three dimensions (reciprocity, sharing and the willingness of Time Banks' volunteer) for questionnaires to realized the relationship between reciprocity and the willingness of Time Banks' volunteer, the relationship between reciprocity and sharing, the relationship between the sharing and willingness of Time Banks' volunteer. This research adopted quantification which by used five-point Likert-type scale to measure the questionnaires, SPSS 12.0 to analysis data and regression to test the hypothesis. It sent out 560 questionnaires, and received 445 useful questionnaires. There is 58 questionnaires by Time Banks' volunteers and 387 questionnaires by Non-Time Banks' volunteers. The results showed reciprocity has a positive impact on the willingness of Time Banks' volunteers, reciprocity has a positive impact on sharing and emotional sharing has a positive impact on the willingness of Time Banks' volunteers in each sample. But behavior sharing doesn’t have a positive impact on the willingness of Time Banks' volunteers in Non-Time Banks' volunteers.
