Summary: | 碩士 === 中華大學 === 機械工程學系碩士班 === 97 === The corrosion behavior of AZ91D magnesium alloy after hot rolling has been evaluated in 3.5 wt. % NaCl aqueous solution by using electrochemical method.
The results indicate that the AZ91D magnesium alloy after 20% hot rolling at 340°C and annealed at 250°C for 1 hr possess the lowest corrosion current densities and pitting tendencies. In this case, the higherβ-phase fraction was present in the α matrix as intergranular precipitates.
Theβ-phase precipitate is an effective cathode, which act as an anodic barrier to inhibit the corrosion of the alloy. The surface morphology of the corroded samples showed that the uniform corrosion, intergranular corrosion, pitting, and hydrogen induced cracking were found on the surface of AZ91D magnesium alloy in 3.5 wt. % NaCl aqueous solution depending on the pH value of the test solution.
