In order to support the above development targets, we should have properly trained flight and maintenance staffs, comprehensive service facilities, well organized operational and administrative systems and most importantly, the highest aircraft maintenance quality to guarantee flight safety. In this study, statistical methods, control charts, data tables will be used to manage and analyze the Deferred Defect Items on the flight and maintenance records. Besides, by means of analyzing quality manuals and fishbone graphs of the maintenance data, cases with Deferred Defect Items of high variance will be detected without repetitive inspections. When the variance is over the alert level, we will issue a non-conformity report to the respective authorized out-station maintenance agent to demand the execution of corrective measures to improve the aircraft maintenance quality and to follow-up the case. By managing and analyzing the collected flight and maintenance deferred defect records of the past 3 years using statistical methods, control charts and data tables, we can confirm the effectiveness of this method in controlling cases with mismanagements on Deferred Detective Items, in reducing variance levels and in keeping safe operation and airworthiness. This method of analyzing Deferred Defect Items can also be applied to the analysis of all kinds of aircraft maintenance records to improve maintenance quality, and to bring us one step closer to the ultimate goal of achieving “the best aircraft maintenance quality and hundred percent flight safety assurance”.
