The system performance of a base station (BS) mainly also depends on the packet scheduler policy. So far as our knowledge, the relatively existing packet scheduler schemes arrange the packets based on the corresponding delay constrained time requirements, not focus on deliberating how to reduce the delay time of packets efficiently as an important purpose. From the perspective, we have proposed our real-time delay-minimized scheduling (rtDMS) scheme for reducing the corresponding delay time in BS for mobile stations (MSs) as our main contribution. The potential benefits of minimizing the delay time can have: 1) with the handover mechanisms, BS could have more time to download the real-time packets while MS moving into the another scope of BS. 2) With the retransmission mechanisms, failed packets could have more chances to be retransmitted if Bandwidth is allowed. Simulation results reveal that our rtDMS algorithm outperformed in the delay minimized time, throughput and packet dropping rate by comparing with the other real-time packet scheduler schemes.
